Bursting the bubble, then off to bed

An allegory of tension
One of the big questions heading into the end of the day was: would we reach the money before calling it a night ?
Drum roll… the answer is yes.
To be fair, it felt quite likely when around 420 players returned for the final level, with 393 needed to make the money. So when the pure bubble moment arrived, there was a buzz in the room, as always. Players left their seats, watching closely for any all-in and call. And while these moments can sometimes drag on, this time the tension didn’t last long. Thanks to Dann Mulders.
Greece’s Symeon Alexandris moved all-in from the hijack and was called by his Dutch opponent in the big blind. At that point, time stood still at the table. Everyone had to wait for the other tables to finish before the cards were revealed: A♥ K♦ for the player at risk, T♠ T♣ for his opponent.
The dealer then put an end to the suspense with a board of Q♣ 8♥ 6♣ 5♠ Q♠.
That’s it, the bubble has burst. Everyone left can celebrate locking up at least €10,000.
After that, about twenty minutes remained in the day, enough time for 27 more players to bust and bring their Main Event run to an end.
That leaves 356 survivors returning tomorrow at noon.
A strong field, led, cocorico, by France’s Thomas Eychenne with 2,000,000 chips, good for 201 big blinds at the restart.
Time for me to call it a night, before what promises to be another explosive Day 3.
See you tomorrow, and good night everyone !
